Above & Beyond Brigade

Above & Beyond Brigade

To inspire youth soccer players, Cavalry teammates Nico Pasquotti, Chris Serban and Dominick Zator are providing free tickets to each home game to youth players and their families.

About Nico, Chris and Dominick

Nico, Chris and Dominick are all products of the youth soccer system in southern Alberta.

  • Nico grew up in Lethbridge and played for Lethbridge FC before ultimately moving on to Lethbridge College and University of Lethbridge.
  • Chris grew up in Calgary and played for South West United, Chinooks SC and  Villains FC, before moving on to play at the University of British Columbia
  • Dominick grew up in Calgary and player for Calgary Glenmore FC, Foothills SC before moving on to play for the University of Calgary

How to Receive Tickets

  1. The tickets will be provided to minor soccer players who have either:
    1. Gone above and beyond to help and enhance their respective soccer clubs. This could be through efforts like coaching younger teams, fundraising or other forms of strategic involvement with their youth soccer clubs.
    2. Families in need whose children would be inspired by attending a Cavalry game.
  2. In order to provide the tickets to a deserving youth player and their family, we ask that you email a three to four sentence summary of their story. The players will then review the submission and confirm their interest in providing tickets to the youth player and their family. Prior to each home game, one of Nico, Chris or Dominick will come over and introduce themselves to the family.
  3. We are contacting multiple youth soccer clubs on a rolling basis to give away the tickets. We will distribute the tickets based on the families selected and their corresponding availability to attend upcoming games. We are currently looking for families to give tickets to for the following home games:
    1. Wednesday, May 8 vs Valour FC at 7pm
    2. Wednesday, May 22 vs Pacific FC at 7:30pm (this is the second leg of Cavalry’s first round match up in the 2019 Canadian Championship)
  4. Who can use the tickets: One ticket is for the player whose name you put forward. The other two tickets can be used by family, friends, teammates and coaches. We recognize that in instances of families in need, transportation to Spruce Meadows can be a barrier. So if it’s a coach or parent of a teammate that brings the player, that’s entirely acceptable.
  5. Transportation
    1. If driving by car, parking at Spruce Meadows is $10
    2. Attendees can also take the LRT to Somerset-Bridlewood where there is a free shuttle to Spruce Meadows on game days/nights. You can also park your car at the LRT station and take the FREE shuttle to and from the game.
    3. More information on game-day logistics and the venue can be found at: https://cavalryfc.canpl.ca/
  6. Getting you the tickets: Once you confirm the date the player wishes to attend, I will need a mobile phone number or email for the player or the person going with them, as there are no physical tickets to Cavalry FC games. I will send the tickets via text message or email.
    1. We have no way to track this, but the tickets are not to be resold or transferred to anyone else. We appreciate your willingness to follow these guidelines.

Inspiring Young Players

When Nico, Chris and Dominick were youth soccer players, there wasn’t the professional team to support in their cities. Now with Cavalry FC, we can inspire those coming generations to attend a game and see professional soccer live. We look forward to motivating the coming generations of soccer players in Calgary and southern Alberta.
